KARRY KRAB's INCEPTION
It was on the beautiful south shore of Lake Superior, at the Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore, where the KARRY KRAB and KRAB KEEPER came to be. With Inspiration and a tremendous amount of support from Professional climber Kitty Calhoun, insight and fine tuning from our friends at the Twin Cities American Alpine Club (Jeff Alley and Steve Schreader), support on marketing and package design... as well as general support from Rob Bosson, and countless others, Design Engineer Tim Bottger conceptualized the first concept, and developed the KARRY KRAB into what it is today. We hope your experience with us and our products complement your already amazing climbing experience.

I believe that simplicity and getting back into nature is the key to happiness. Being a rock climber, I took up ice climbing in 2021. I was immediately hooked! It was a chance for me to get out into nature during the cold winter months. No matter how hard the wind was blowing, I had amazing experiences. I hope you too find the same Zen when you're out on the ice.
- My favorite place to ice climb is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Being from the Midwest, I am amazed at all the cool places we have right at our doorstep. The U.P. is a magical place.
- My favorite place to rock climb is near Mt. Rushmore, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The rock is like sandpaper. That can be good when you're pulling hard to top out. It can be bad, if you lose your grip. So Hang On!
